About

I am an mixed media artist, disciplined in fine art and textiles. In my practice I am exploring decay and our human desire to prevent decay and to preserve beauty, youth and perfection. I am exploring our human desire for infinite beauty and how this is impossible. I use natural forms as a metaphor for this state of decay by looking at nature, death and beauty in effect. Even though I will be looking at death and decay in my work I hope to portray somehow the feeling of life.

I think about the fragility of life and mortality in my work and how decay describes this mortality. If this decaying process is preserved in some way or frozen in time and space then it becomes infinite so this gives the feeling of desired immortality, however this is somewhat impossible as we cannot avoid the inevitable.
